Watch an episode of The Chosen followed by discussion

Paul Matheson

Pope Leo states that the parables “help us to rediscover hope, because they show us how God acts in history. While Jesus' parables are taken from everyday life, their goal is to convey something more profound. They encourage us all to raise questions within us. Where am I in this story? What does this image say to my life?”

Watching ‘The Chosen’ raises those same questions in us: Where am I in this story? What does this scene say to my life?

Solvitur Ambulando: It Is Solved by Walking

PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF DATE

Mick Ashworth and David Buri

Saint Augustine wrote it down in De Genesi ad Litteram (c. 401 AD ): a debate about whether a moving body occupies one place or many as it goes: Ambulando solvitur ista quaestio, he writes - the question is solved by walking. For him we are viatores, beings who think by going, whose understanding sharpens only when it makes contact with the world.

We will be walking around Garnethill this month and we look forward to another interesting evening together.

Pizza and planning IN HOUSE

Pete Smith

An evening of fellowship and food followed by some discussion to plan next session: Sep'27 - June'28 ......Let’s make pizza together - Pete will bring pizza dough and his pizza oven, the ISC will provide the toppings.  We’ll make the pizzas for the meal at the the ISC before we sit down to plan next year.

No pizza making skill required, plenty of us know the drill already and we’re ready to show you how to make your own pizza on the day.

If you have an apron, please bring it!
