Parish and Group Retreats

As well as the retreats and training courses run at the Centre, the team also offers many programmes in the community. We have offered retreats, courses and days in a variety of local settings including parishes, universities, schools and other institutions, organisations and groups. We can either use and adapt one of the following or offer a programme tailored to your own needs.

RETREAT IN DAILY LIFE

This is a one-to-one retreat based on the Exercises of Ignatius of Loyola. It is a time of being accompanied on the journey of faith, a chance to explore where God is drawing us to life, or to try out new ways of praying and finding God in life. A team of prayer companions comes to, for example, a parish (or often an ecumenical group of parishes) and conducts the retreat over a number of days or weeks. After the initial group meeting, each participant meets individually with a prayer companion. There are a number of possible patterns for these retreats:- once a week for 6 weeks, twice a week for 3 weeks or daily for a week. The pattern of meetings will depend on the group.

GROUP RETREAT - Finding God in all things

This a series of meetings exploring ways of praying based on our in-house course ‘Reflective Living’. The number of meetings is flexible, typically between 5 and 10, and can be offered to small groups or large.

TASTER’ DAYS AND EVENINGS

Including prayer workshops, short inputs on various themes, time for sharing and listening. May serve as an introduction to longer events.

(Although the team from the centre will suggest a donation for giving these retreats, we do not want people to be excluded because of cost, please contact us for further details.)
