About the Centre
The Ignatian Spirituality Centre is a non-residential spirituality centre supported by the British Province of the Jesuits.
The Centre team is an ecumencial team including representatives from the main Christian faith traditions in Scotland. Grounding our work in the Spiritual Exercises of Ignatius of Loyola, members of the team are commited to:
- reflecting on the spiritual needs of people and responding appropriately
- giving the Ignatian Spiritual Exercises in various forms
- offering ongoing accompaniment in the form of spiritual direction and supervision
- training others to be discerning companions of faith
- engaging with diverse and ecumenical groups both in the Centre and outside it
- working with those who are on the margins of Church and society
The Centre offers a programme of courses, events, retreats and opportunity for one to one accompaniment . We also welcome both groups and individuals that are simply seeking some reflective space.
Groups may include...
Parish pastoral councils, eucharistic ministers, kirk sessions, clergy teams, readers, multifaith groups, justice and peace groups, prayer groups, asylum seekers, teachers (some of our courses are Continuing Professional Development (CPD) approved), social and healthcare professionals, or any other groups seeking a reflective space.
Members of the team are available to lead programmes of prayer and reflection for groups both at the Centre and at outside venues. Such programmes might include days of recollection and retreat or reflective discernment and decision-making processes. If you let us know what you are looking for, we can tailor the programme to meet the needs of your group.
For groups who wish to follow their own programmes, we also have a number of rooms available for booking in the Centre. Please contact us to check availability.
